Wild Turkey Manhattan

Just saw a blog post touting the Wild Turkey recipe for the Manhattan. This looks so good…

1.75 ounce Wild Turkey Bourbon
1/3 ounce dry Vermouth
1/3 ounce sweet Vermouth
1 thin slice fresh Ginger
3 Mint leaves
1/2 teaspoon powdered sugar
dash aromatic bitters

Muddle ginger, mint, powdered sugar and bitters in a cocktail shaker. Add Wild Turkey Bourbon, Vermouth and ice cubes. Shake and strain into a chilled glass.

It calls for 1.75 fl oz of bourbon. That’s pretty specific. I think personally I would err on the side of two, but then, I usually do….

Major aside here:

I just tried to get the original recipe from the Wild Turkey website to no avail. Going to any whiskey site is almost always painful, especially if you want to find some real information, as they hide everything away behind a stupid age-verification piece and then obfuscate the rest using the worst form of website design: all-flash. You can’t search for anything, nothing works like you expect it to,  drop-downs have been turned into some kind of wigitized, disneyesque playground for the digitally challenged, navigation flies in and out…ugh. Things move to give the appearance of dynamism but for all it’s flash and circumstance it’s a static failure and a truly horrid site.

End aside, you can continue your drinking now….
