Here’s a little factoid I didn’t know: Frank Sinatra adored Humphrey Bogart. At least, according to a source quoted in a piece in the Las Vegas Review Journal. There’s a lot I don’t know about Sinatra and there’s a bit I do know about Sinatra. Knowing more is probably good as he is one of the mainstays of the bourbonhours.com music library.
It makes sense that Frank adored Bogart, studied him to see how he acted socially, how he carried himself. Why does it makes sense? Because it completes a concentric circle: we also dig Bogart round these parts. One cool guy passes on his sense and style of cool to another cool guy. That’s just the kind of ice we like to put in our tumblers, sometime round midnight, when the coo-coos have gone to bed.
Here’s to Sinatra and Bogart. I raise a glass to greatness.
